Lilypie 3rd Birthday Ticker

Rudolph Meets the Godfather

This is not family friendly, but I remember watching this on MAD TV years ago. If you’ve ever watched The Godfather, you’ll enjoy this. You can order this and other spoofs at Space Bass Films. Happy Holidays!

Get Me Off This Guy’s Lap!

Well, we made it through our first photo with Santa. The line was not as crazy as we thought it might be. The girls were enjoying themselves quite nicely…that is, until they saw Santa for the first time! Here is a nice candid moment from their first encounter with Father Christmas.

Baby Gift Ideas

I stumbled across this interesting gift idea today…

Baby Fake Fur Set

H&M’s “Gift of the Day” December 6th - Baby Fake Fur Set $5.90. Available today while supplies last!

Do we want our girls to be divas for the holidays?

Belated Easter

Ever since I started my new job, I’ve noticed that it’s been much harder to add photos and content to this site. Because I get up so early to get to work and then spend time with the girls when I get home, I find that by the time the girls go to bed, I need to as well!

Anyway, here’s some belated Easter weekend photos from our trip to Long Island - of course you can see more here.

I Love You

Asleep, Content

Thank you, my wife, for being the love of my life. Thank you for being the mother of my two daughters. Can you believe that they are already 15 weeks old?! There’s nothing better than watching them asleep, content. What a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I want you to know that I love you very much. Isabel and Emily, I love you very much and am privileged to be called your father.

Baby Talk

Emily certainly is the more talkative of the two. Over the New Year’s holiday, I found myself no longer able to resist capturing Emily’s cooing. Enjoy!

“On the Stairs”

Christmas Photo - On the Stairs

Every Christmas, the Fay family has a holiday tradition of taking a family photo on the stairs. Growing up, this was both good and bad…actually, it was mostly bad. You see, before any child could even go downstairs on Christmas Day, he or she had to wait for every family member to be ready to sit somewhere on the stairs and look pretty for a half dozen or so photos. And of course Dad had problems every year getting the tripod set up just right and remembering how to set the timer. Precious time was wasted for little children who wanted to tear open the million gifts he or she hoped to receive.

Ah, I love payback traditions. Now that Laurel and I are new parents, we are determining those traditions we want to carry forward in our own nuclear family. This is one that we will make sure our girls suffer through. I’m sure they’ll be torturing us anyway in the near future by waking us at the crack of dawn. I do realize that the photo isn’t all that bad - in retrospect, it is fun to see the photo each year. Dad, be sure to make a collage of all the family photos “on the stairs” you’ve taken over the years.

For your viewing pleasure, we have a small collection of Christmas photos and a new growing collection of baby photos. Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas!

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, or any other holiday you choose to observe during this season. What a wonderful gift to have our two little girls with us this holiday season.

Time flies. Our parents have left, so this past week Laurel and I were flying solo. I have to give a lot of credit to Laurel since she is with the girls 24×7 and has to handle both of them screaming bloody murder during the day. I am so proud of her.

Right now the tendency is for Emily to sleep for longer periods of time, particularly during the nighttime. She sometimes goes about 6 hours between feedings! Isabel, on the other hand, has been a bit more fussy at night and typically goes about 3 hours between feedings. Needless to say, I’ve had both good and bad nights. The day after my parents left I was up for 24 hours straight before getting some sleep!

Anyway, we are looking forward to spending Christmas at home for the first time. The stockings are on the fireplace and the tree is up - although we’ve only had a moment to get lights up - no ornaments…yet.

Here are a few Christmas photos for your enjoyment. Have a blessed holiday season.
